Rio is back on top form.

IT WAS nice to see that well-known fun guy and prankster Rio Ferdinand back on top form last week.

No not for one of his jolly japes and not even playing for Manchester United, but back at his best for opening his mouth and putting his foot in it.

Rio went on record to blast the greed of young players in the modern game and said: "Too many young lads get a contract and think they are set up for life. I was never content, I was always setting myself goals to play more football."

This, apparently, is the same Rio who demanded a new pounds 100k-a-week deal in 2005 just a short time after completing his eight month suspension for confusing going shopping with a drugs test - a lay-off from football that saw him collect pounds 2.4m in wages without kicking a ball.
