Thankfully, there will always be a plethora of dinosaur non-fiction books in circulation. However, it is rare to find books like this that cover some more unusual, lesser-known species of the famous prehistoric beasts. Organised alphabetically, this book looks at a selection of bird-footed dinosaurs and explores their behaviours, diets and habitats using a straight-forward fact file format. Whilst fierce, murderous dinosaurs will always be popular, it is refreshing to learn about herbivores that evolved to run, rather than fight and eat plants rather than chase and kill their contemporaries.

In this book the images of the dinosaurs dominate the pages, which is ideal for the young readers the series is aimed at. The text is low-level and minimal, giving out only simple and accessible facts to fuel the imagination of dino-lovers. This book belongs to a series that includes other groups of dinosaurs including T.Rex and his relatives, plated dinosaurs and long-necked dinosaurs to name a few. If you are looking to update or replace books in your dinosaur collection this title and others in the series are a great place to start.
