Ricky: I'd glove to see Andy.

Byline: Anthony Haggerty

RICKY BURNS has urged Andy Murray to watch him train for his WBO super-featherweight title showdown.

The Scot will make his third defence against Englishman Nicky Cook in Liverpool on Saturday night and boxing fan Murray revealed he intended to pop down to the gym to see Burns sparring for his big bout.

Burns insists he'd lay out the welcome mat for the British No.1 in tennis and was thrilled to learn Murray is a huge admirer of his sport. He said: "I know Andy's in town right now and if he does want to come along and watch me spar and train then he is more than welcome.

"I would have no problem with him showing up. It's nice to know he's such a big boxing fan."
