Ricky's grr-face.

DAVID Brent star Ricky Gervais makes a right Charlie of himself as he accepts the Charlie Chaplin award for comedic achievement.

The Office star, 55, roared in triumph as he picked up the award in Los Angeles. Samuel L Jackson received the Albert R Broccoli award for contribution to entertainment.

Gervais had the audience in stitches when he left the stage "to go and get drunk more".

He joked: "I knew I'd won - and I didn't prepare a speech. It shows the contempt I have for this award and this town.

"What I'm taking from this is you, and everyone in showbusiness, is saying to me that I'm better than Charlie Chaplin. I humbly accept this award." Perhaps he should have kept quiet, like the silent movie legend.

Everyone in showbusiness is saying I'm better than Chaplin
