Richards punishes Vale; Ebbw Vale 17 25 Llanelli.

FLY-HALF Luke Richards booted Llanelli to a well deserved victory at Ebbw Vale to strengthen their position at the head of the Premiership table.

He knocked over six penalties and a conversion to ensure they took the spoils from an engaging contest.

It had looked promising for Vale when centre Shaun Powell crossed for a try on five minutes, but they kept infringing and Richards ensured that they paid the price.

Llanelli led 19-10 at the break with loose head prop Shaun Hopkins barging over after 33 minutes for a try.

And Richards kept the scoreboard ticking along with a pair of penalties after the break to ensure that there was no way back for the Steelmen.

The game was over long before Morgan Allen's try for Vale with the last play.
