Sullenger Becomes President of Premier Organization With

More Than 28,000 Members of the

World's Best Life Insurance and Financial Services Professionals

Richard H. Sullenger of Bakersfield, Calif. was elected President of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) for 2003. He assumes the position as the 77th president for the worldwide organization on September 1, 2002, until his term expires August 31, 2003.

Sullenger, president of Sullenger Financial Group, has been a general agent with GenAmerica Financial, a MetLife affiliate, for more than 25 years. As President of the five-member MDRT Executive Committee, Sullenger's goals are to significantly increase domestic membership, promote branding opportunities for MDRT and strengthen participation in MDRT's mentoring program. During the next 12 months, he will travel the world speaking to MDRT members, non-members and company officials at local meetings and industry events.

A significant contributor to the MDRT Foundation as a Bronze Knight, Sullenger is a 31-year Round Table qualifier with seven Court of the Table (COT) and six Top of the Table (TOT) honors, designations reserved for producers who have demonstrated exceptional professional knowledge, client service and ethical conduct.

He has served on MDRT's Management Council, its 14-person governing body, as the 1996 Finance Committee Chair, 1993 Annual Meeting Divisional Vice President (DVP) and 1989 Communications DVP.

Sullenger was the 1999 MDRT Millennium Task Force Chair, in addition to the 1987 Membership Communications Committee Chair. He has served on the Membership Communication and Program Development committees, as well as the Annual Meeting Long-Range Planning, Program General Arrangements and Family Time Task Forces. Sullenger is also one of only 43 members who have attended 30 or more consecutive MDRT Annual Meetings.

A frequent industry speaker, Sullenger has addressed life underwriter associations across the United States on topics ranging from private pensions and executive bonus plans to retirement planning and wealth preservation.

An MDRT business and community leader, Sullenger and his wife, Linda, co-founded two charitable organizations, Couples Against Cancer and Krewe for the Arts. He has also been involved in the North Bakersfield Rotary, Kids on the Block, Teen Challenge, St. Paul's Episcopal Church (Bakersfield) and Mastering Abilities Riding Equines (M.A.R.E.).

Joining Sullenger on the 2003 MDRT Executive Committee are: Marvin H. Feldman, CLU, ChFC, of East Liverpool, Ohio, Immediate Past President; George B. Pickett Jr., J.D., CLU, of Jackson Mississippi, First Vice President; Adelia C. Chung, CLU, ChFC, of Honolulu, Hawaii, Second Vice President; and Stephen O. Rothschild, CLU, ChFC, of St. Louis, Missouri, Secretary.

Feldman, a 28-year MDRT member and Excalibur Knight of the Foundation, has earned eight COT and 21 TOT honors and served as the Program Development Committee DVP (1998) and TOT Chair (1986). A respected industry speaker, he has addressed insurance audiences throughout the world. An MDRT business and community leader, Feldman is listed in "Who's Who in the World" and "Who's Who in Business and Finance." Feldman is also active in his community, volunteering much of his free time to the East Liverpool City Hospital where he is chair and trustee, and was a founder and currently is a director of the First National Community Bank in East Liverpool, Ohio.

Pickett is a 32-year member and Foundation Gold Knight with three COT and one TOT honor. Along with other numerous leadership positions, he has served as the Membership Services DVP (1994), the Research and Special Projects DVP (1988) and the Finance Committee Chair (1986). Pickett has served as president of both the Jackson Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and the Mississippi Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals. He is also a member of the Hall of Fame of both the Jackson and Mississippi Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. Pickett is a past president of the Mississippi Kidney Foundation and is a Distinguished Service Award recipient of the National Kidney Foundation. He is a founding member and past president of the Millsaps College Estate Planning Council and is Past Chairman of the Millsaps College Annual Fund.

Chung, a 20-year member of MDRT with 10 COT and five TOT honors is the first woman to be elected to MDRT's Executive Committee. A Platinum Knight of the Foundation, she was only the second woman to serve as President of the MDRT Foundation. Heavily involved in the industry, she most recently served on MDRT's TOT Advisory Board, and previously served as the President of the East Honolulu Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, President of the Hawaii Chapter CLU/ChFC, was the National Committee Person of the Life Underwriters Political Action Committee and Treasurer of the Life Underwriters Political Action Committee. A Founder of the Alana Dung Research Foundation, she also volunteers much of her time to the Ronald McDonald House, YMCA and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

Rothschild is a 27-year member with eight COT qualifications and one TOT honor. Heavily involved in the Round Table, he is a Diamond Knight of the Foundation and is a participant in its Gift of Life Insurance program. He has served on MDRT's Management Council three times as 1997 Finance Chair, 1999 Annual Meeting Divisional Vice President and 2001 Communications Divisional Vice President. An industry leader, Rothschild is a past board member of the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU). In addition, he is a past president of the Estate Planning Council of St. Louis and the St. Louis Association of Financial Planners. He is active in his community serving on many local community boards.
