Riberac back on the winning trail; Rosemary Rated Stakes 1 Riberac (9-1) K Darley 2 Mystify 3 Peacock Alley Owner: Mr & Mrs G Middlebrook Trainer: Mark Johnston.

RIBERAC was back in a more familiar mode when helping Kevin Darley complete a

164-1 double in the Sodexho Rosemary Rated Stakes, writes Tony Elves.

The ground appeared to be riding faster towards the stands' rail and Darley eased his mount across from his 10 stall to take over from Alpenglow over a furlong out before scoring by two lengths from Mystify.

The Efisio filly was unplaced on her previous start when favourite at Goodwood, but had won four of her five most recent starts before that reverse.

Mark Johnston said: "She pulled and ran a bit too free on her last run. She's been a sprinter in her time and it probably buzzed her up running two days after she'd won at Epsom.

"We took the plunge stepping her up in trip and she stays a mile and a quarter when she settles."

The trainer added: "There are no immediate plans, but it would be nice to get a Group race into her."

Mystify also delighted John Gosden with her performance, but her future lies on the other side of the Atlantic.

The Manton trainer said: "Frankie [Dettori] said the ground was just too dead for her.

"I may run her here one more time, but she will go to America to join Christophe Clment.

"She loves fast ground, has a lot of speed and should be ideally suited by racing out there."
