Rhod makes his mark.

IF he ever does need to give up the day (or night) job, maybe he's found an alternative career (Rhod Gilbert's Work Experience, BBC2, Monday), In the first show of his sixth series (he's been trying to get his head around the world of work for a long time) the comedian tried his hand at being a journalist - first as a reporter on the Carmarthen Journal, then doing a TV reporter shift on BBC Wales Today.

I might be biased, but I reckon the former is where his future might lie, even if things didn't get off to a great start. Rhod: "I'm looking for a front page scoop to wow the world!" Shopkeeper (after a long pause): "This is Lampeter."

But I loved the story he wrote about an intruder ringing church bells at an ungodly hour - and his headline: "What the bell is going on?" Nice!
