Rhein Chemie merged into Lanxess.

The U.S. legal entity Rhein Chemie Corp., Chardon, Ohio, has merged into its Pittsburgh-based parent, Lanxess Corp., as a business unit called Rhein Chemie Additives. The Rhein Chemie Additive unit is the combination of the former Rhein Chemie and two other former business units, Lanxess Functional Chemicals and Lanxess Rubber Chemicals' specialty chemicals product line.

For the plastics industry, the Rhein Chemie unit offers a broad range of organic pigments and dyes for commodity and engineering resins; phosphorus-based flame retardants; stabilizers for protection against humidity; specialty plasticizers; and catalysts, activators, and impact modifiers for cast nylon production.
