Review today of park shut over rats.

ENVIRONMENTAL health officers are today due to reassess a popular holiday park in Pembrokeshire which had to shut its food areas after being infested by rats.

Kiln Park in Tenby was inspected by environmental health officials after receiving a complaint.

They ordered food premises to close in the affected area - the main entertainment building - and are due to reassess the situation today.

A spokesman for Kiln Park said the firm was working with a pest control company to sort out the problems. Pembrokeshire council said officers from its public protection division found evidence of "significant rat activity" on Friday afternoon.

Officials returned on Saturday to check progress. Kiln Park said this week was the end of the season and guests were being offered their money back or a package to go back if they did not want to stay now.
