Revamped play area open.

THE revamp of a playing field has finally been completed.

Second phase work on Twycross playing field, Leicestershire, is now finished and includes a double basketball hoop, tarmac area and path.

These were added to the provision of a play unit, sand pit, see-saw and springers, which were installed in April.

The Twycross and Orton Recreation Group, local mothers who wanted safer equipment to cater for the needs of children of all ages, was the driving force behind the project.

They ran fundraising events including a village fun day, raffles and car boot sale, as well as approaching local businesses and other organisations for support.
