Rev. Donald L. Holt.
CHATHAM - Rev. Donald Lee Holt, a United Methodist minister for 40 years, died peacefully on January 31, 2012 at Cape Regency Nursing Home in Centerville, MA following years of dementia.Born October 11, 1936 in Malden, MA to the late Ebert A. and Dorothy R. (Gerry) Holt, Rev. Holt pastored eight churches in New Jersey and Massachusetts, including Wesley United Methodist, Worcester and Oxford United Methodist. In Oxford, he was Chair of the Oxford Housing Authority and Chaplain and volunteer fire fighter with the Oxford Fire Department.
Don is survived by his wife of 13 years, Deborah Holt of Chatham, MA, and his children with Ruth Holt: Barry Holt of Arlington, MA, Donna Holt of Darien, CT, Thomas Holt of Dudley, MA, their spouses, and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister Priscilla West of Ada, OH, and his step-children and their families. He was predeceased by his second wife, Norma MacDonald Holt.
A memorial service celebrating Don's life will be held on Saturday, February 4, at 1:00 p.m., First United Methodist Church, 16 Cross Street, Chatham, MA.
