Retail staff raise PS9k with marathon effort; E&S BRIEFING.

A firm's employees collectively raised more than PS9,000 for charity by running the London Marathon.

Willenhall-based AF Blakemore's retail area manager Mark Bostock, retail regional manager Paul Wiltshire, South Benfleet Spar sales assistant Sophie Litman and foodservice transport supervisor Daniel Brereton were amongst more than 40,000 runners who embarked on the gruelling 26.2-mile race around the capital.

Paul Wiltshire's chosen charity was Breast Cancer Now, Mark Bostock's and Sophie Litman's was the NSPCC and Daniel Brereton chose Sport in Mind.

First-time marathon runner Mark said: "Raising money for such a wonderful charity is an absolute honour for me."

Paul, who ran his fifth marathon with his daughter, said: "As always, running the London Marathon is not only an honour but a privilege to participate in."
