Gordmans Inc. of Omaha, Neb., will be setting up shop in a 50,000-SF location, next door to the 30,000-SF Babies R Us on the west side of the development.
You might recall a Dunlap's store originally was slated for a 36,000-SF piece of Shackleford Crossings. The store was to replace a University Mall location.
However, The Dunlap Co. of Fort Worth ended up closing all of its stores last year and nixing any new ones.
Gordmans, which operates 65 stores in 16 states, emerged from Chapter 11 reorganization in 1993 to focus on its "half-price store" concept.
The Gordmans store at Shackleford Crossings will mark the company's second Arkansas location. The off-price department store chain opened for business in March at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade in Rogers.
The Little Rock store is expected to come on line during the first quarter of 2009, along with a 36,000-SF Haverty's furniture store.
