Resumes Etc.

Owner: Sherrie Colburn Address: 5321 JFK Blvd., Suite C, North Little Rock, 72116, 758-1617 Start-up date: January

Sherrie Colburn operated a small, home-based typing service for several years.

In December, a new opportunity came her way.

When CareerPro Resume Services Inc. went out of business, Colburn was able to take over that office space.

"My company is a lot different than CareerPro," she says. "I offer a complete business and personal writing service with an emphasis on customer satisfaction."

In addition to resumes from the entry to the executive levels, Colburn does military conversions and federal and civil job applications.

Other services offered by Resumes Etc. include business letters and personal correspondence. Within a month, Colburn says she will be writing grants.

Colburn does not plan to expand her company.

"... That would take the actual writing out of my hands," says Colburn, who relies on referrals for new clients. "Since I've never seen another resume as good as the ones I do, I would be very skeptical of doing that."

Colburn offers a free consultation fee.

"I quote to the penny exactly how much a resume will cost before I put a finger on the machine," she says.

Although her regular office hours are 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Colburn says she often stays late and works on Saturdays for clients.
