Restaurant review: Pepe Burro Mexican Grill, Limassol.

For some reason there is no best accompaniment to the summer holidays than a great Mexican dish and a chilled beer. To satisfy these culinary needs visit the Pepe Burro Mexican Grill. Located in the centre of Limassol, it is very accessible even to those who do not know Limassol well. Pepe Burro boasts a laid back feel, giving patrons that summer island feeling wether they live here or not.

The restaurant's biggest seller is the burrito, and their burritos are some Cyprus. The meal is what they call a five-step meal, where you choose your base, ranging from a burrito to a hard taco shell, fill up with any choice of meat/vegetarian base. Then you add salads and sauces such as pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole. My favourite option for filling up the burrito is the chili con carne. It is one of the tastiest chilies I've had in a while and when teamed with the burrito staples of rice, cheese, fried beans, and assrted sauces you have an amazingly satisfying burrito. Nevertheless, the fajita chicken and beef steak fajita come a close second and third.

Making your own burrito is not the only Mexican option. You could also try the delicious chicken chimichanga made with fajita chicken and topped off with a combination of cheese, served with homemade guacamole and sour cream. Another great option is the meat empanadas, which are essentially beef turnovers served with sour cream, guacamole and cilantro-lime rice. For those who aren't huge fans of beef or chicken, try the Camarones al Mojo de Ajo which consist of prawns and mushrooms sauteed in garlic butter and accompanied with cilantro-lime rice and fajita vegetables.

But there's more, Pepe Burro offers a wide variety if dishes. The grills are also great dining options as you can try the mouthwatering chorizo sausage served with fajita vegetables, pico de gallo and guacamole. There is also a large variety of salads, the best of which has to be the Tex-mex steak salad made with marinated beef fillet served on a base of lettuce, tomato, onion and pico de gallo and accompanied with ranch dressing.

All in all, Pepe Burro is an ideal place for a laid back, relaxing meal that will give you the summer island feel. It is also worth mentioning they offer take away and a delivery service at a small charge.
