Respecting the hunt.

As hunters we know it's possible to come home empty handed and be proud to have done it right, and it's possible to come home with a heavy bag and to have done it wrong.

It was Theodore Roosevelt who maintained that in order for hunting success to be savored, great effort must be spent and failure must always be an option.

This fall let's pause for just a moment before we pick up that rifle, shotgun or bow and ask ourselves, will we show the respect that creature deserves or is it just another moving target? Know the laws, and stay clear of baiting and other dishonorable short cuts.
