Repair to water leak.

A WATER leaK in Longwood which residents say has been running for at least a month was due to be repaired last night.

Bill Paley said the leaK in Bull Green Road, thought to be coming from a stop valve, started as a "tricKle" and then became a "stream."

Mr Paley said he first reported it to YorKshire Water more than a month ago but nothing had been done.

When he chased YorKshire Water he was told the firm needed permission to close the road.

"YorKshire Water are constantly telling us to save water but here they are just letting the stuff pour down the drain," said Mr Paley.

"It's become a topic of conversation in the village."

A spoKesman for YorKshire Water could not comment on the delay but said the "priority (of the repair) has been increased recently."

It was due to be repaired after 6pm last night.
