Rent-A-Center Deploys SonicWALL SOHO TZW to Create Secure Wireless Network Of Over 2500 Stores.

SonicWALL, Inc. , a leading provider of comprehensive Internet security solutions, today announced that Rent-A-Center Inc., the largest rent-to-own operator in the United States, has begun its deployment of a national, secure wireless network featuring the SonicWALL SOHO TZW. SonicWALL partner High Touch, Inc. is currently installing a total of 2,564 SOHO TZW wireless security appliances at Rent-A-Center retail stores across the nation, at a rate of up to 100 installations per day.

The SOHO TZW gives Rent-A-Center locations secure wireless connectivity throughout each store, enabling the secure transfer of business-critical customer information between terminals and wireless employment kiosks. Integrated IPSec VPN also enables secure connectivity between each store and corporate headquarters, for the secure transfer of critical transaction and inventory information. The entire wireless network is jointly managed by Rent-A-Center and High Touch, Inc. personnel using SonicWALL's renowned Global Management System (GMS).

"The SonicWALL solution gives us manageable VPN connectivity over a wireless network, enabling the secure transmission of confidential sales and customer information between our counter terminals, employment kiosks, regional offices, and corporate headquarters," said Roscoe Wasco, chief information officer for Rent-A-Center. "Because the SOHO TZW appliances are so easy to deploy and manage, regional market managers are completing the installations, which will allow us to get all 2,564 stores up and running by next month."

"Rent-A-Center's previous security solution included a variety of VPN appliances from several vendors," said Mark Lenz, High Touch Inc. vice president. "The scale of this deployment, in addition to the need for remote management of this distributed wireless network, demanded a single-vendor, end-to-end solution, and SonicWALL products delivered."

"The additional services enabled by secure wireless connectivity have driven a dramatic increase in demand for wireless networks in retail point-of-sale environments," said Matt Medeiros, SonicWALL president and CEO. "With the SOHO TZW and SonicWALL GMS, Rent-A-Center is able to provide in-store employment application kiosks, the convenience of additional terminals for the holiday shopping season, and an untethered network well- suited to frequent floor plan changes. Rent-A-Center is developing the retail store of the future, and SonicWALL is delighted to partner in that development."

The SOHO TZW and SonicWALL GMS: A Managed, Wireless Security Solution

The SonicWALL SOHO TZW integrates secure wireless, firewall, and VPN technologies, delivering the convenience of both wireless and wired connectivity in one easy-to-use solution. By enforcing the use of VPN encryption on the wireless LAN, the SOHO TZW provides complete wireless security, bridging IT administrator security concerns with user demands for wireless. The SOHO TZW integrates tightly with SonicWALL's Global VPN Client to provide secure wireless access to the corporate network.

Network administrators can create multiple zones of access -- for wired and wireless workers as well as guest wireless users for maximum control and network security. An advanced web interface enables secure remote or local management as well as support for SonicWALL's award-winning Global Management System (GMS) for the management of distributed networks. The SOHO TZW supports SonicWALL's suite of security services including Network Anti-Virus and Content Filtering.
