Renovation completed for One Bridge Plaza.

Building renovations were recently completed at One Bridge Plaza, a 201,000-square-foot, first-class office building located at the entrance to the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee, announced Neil M. McShane, assistant vice president and manager of, the Metropark, New Jersey Regional Office of Metropolitan Life Real Estate Investments.

Building ownership held a tenant breakfast to commemorate the completion of the extensive interior and exterior improvements. One Bridge Plaza is jointly owned by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and the One Bridge Plaza Partnership.

The $3 million renovation program included designing a new entrance that opens to a 32-foot lobby rotunda. A strong architectural feature, the rotunda is panelled in pear wood, detailed in polished copper and highlighted by soft grey-green Italian granite flooring. Another renovation highlight is the 85-foot-long arcade that extends across the front of the building. The lobby care has also been refurbished and features outdoor patio seating.

In addition to the lobby renovations, the office corridors and elevator lobbies were upgraded with textured wall-covering, new carpeting, and parabolic and cove lighting. Elevator vestibules on each floor are now defined by pilasters and finished with blue-grey granite. The bathrooms were improved with new tile work, vanities, fixtures and lighting.

Exterior walkways were redesigned and new landscaping was installed as part of the overall renovation program. Also, the parking garage was upgraded with a drop-off entrance and 24-hour security card access.

The building's identity has been heightened with the addition of a 15-foot-high permanent sign featuring the building's logo. Illuminated at night, the new sign has been posted on the building exterior facing the entrance to the George Wash ington B ridge.

Constructed in 1982, the contemporary, first-class office building consists of 10 floors, including a four-level, secured parking garage. The parking decks are made of precast concrete, while the office floors above are clad in an aluminum and glass curtain wall forming a distinctive curved profile at the top and bottom.

The architect of the renovation programs was Carrington MacRaeGibson Architects of New York. The general contractor was ICS Builders, Inc., of New York.
