MADISON, Wis. -- As part of its new venture with hair stylist Richard Marin, Remington has introduced several new lines of women's hairstyling products that target the back-to-school trade.

One group is intended to introduce preteens and teens to hair styling. This line includes All That!, which offers a compact hair dryer, a quick-curl hair setter and clipless, beach wave rollers in retro colors; and the Wet 2 Straight hair straightener. A second line focuses on college students and includes the BlowOut straightening blow dryer and the CurlEnvy body blow dryer, each coming with styling tools and a styling guidebook.

Other segments of the Remington-Matin program target adult women. First, the Protect & Shine line includes a hair dryer and a straightener that use ceramic heating technology, which enables faster drying and styling and promises less frizz and damage to hair.

Second is the T-Studio collection, which is divided into several product groups. The T-Studio Pink Tourmaline includes a blow dryer, a curling iron and a heated clip set that uses tourmaline-ceramic technology, which produces negative ions to prevent static and frizz. The T-Studio Nano Silver consists of a hair dryer, curling irons and a straightener that run on nano silver technology, which removes impurities from hair. The T-Studio Teflon Fiber group--which includes a curling iron and a straightener--uses teflon-fiber ceramic technology, which creates a high level of ceramic heat and uses tourmaline ton emission to distribute the heat evenly.

Remington joined forces with Marin, a Hollywood, Calif.-based celebrity hair stylist, in June. Marin's client list includes Mariah Carey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Michelle Pfeiffer, Denise Richards, Katherine Heigl and Cindy Crawford. Crawford is Remington's spokeswoman for hair-care products and introduced Matin to Remington.

"Having Richard on the team rounds out our hair-care program," said Aileen Hagert, Remington's brand manager for hair care. "These are professional-grade products for home use. Women are comfortable using our products to create salon-quality hair at home."

The T-Studio Nano Silver line, which will appear at major retailers in the fall, is a major focus of this program. "We've made tremendous inroads in hair care through innovation," Hagert said. "The nano silver technology and teflon technology give women all the tools they need to produce high-quality hair styles."
