A DECADE has passed since 15 people were left dead when two masked students rampaged through Columbine High School, in Denver, Colorado, firing automatic weapons and throwing homemade bombs.

Eric Harris, 18, and Dylan Klebold, 17, took their own lives after the killing spree in April 1999.

Two years later, the families of most of the victims of the Columbine shootings were awarded $2.5 million after suing the gunmen's parents and the men who sold them the weapons.

Eight years after the Columbine attack, a 23-yearold student killed 32 people and himself at Virginia Tech University in what became the United States' worst mass shooting..
