Remember When.

WORK WAS ITS OWN REWARD: Would you work unpaid for nine years? Well, that is what Ethel Webb did until she retired in November 1988. Ethel, who had been working in the Spastics Society Shop in Redcar, said that she had enjoyed every minute. Working in the charity shop was just one of the reasons that the dedicated Ethel was nominated for the regional Volunteer of the Year (which she won) and she went on to be a runner-up in the national award.

Award-winning Ethel is pictured with colleagues outside the shop in November 1988.
