Remember When? July 1980.

IN JULY 1980, evergreen entertainer Cliff Richard was celebrating after receiving an OBE in recognition of his contribution to the British music industry.

He was invited to Buckingham Palace to receive his medal from the Queen, capping a memorable year in which he also turned 40.

After 22 years in showbiz, he had already been dubbed the Peter Pan of Pop for his youthful good looks.

Cliff - since knighted - showed no signs of letting up in 1980 as he chalked up hits like Carrie and Dreamin' and duetted with Olivia Newton-John on the soundtrack of the film Xanadu.
