"Relativity/ Relatividad" is a bilingual illustrated children's book that teaches young children to begin thinking comparatively and analytically. Spunky, rhyming text in English and in Spanish interface with color photo-illustration collages to entice children to make simple comparisons, such as "The sky is high/ the trees are low/ El cielo es alto, los arboles son bajos. (pp. 2-3)." Written simply enough to be understood by children age 4 and up, "Relativity/ Relatividad" is an intriguing invitation to young thinkers to use their skills. English text is lettered in white, while Spanish text is lettered in yellow, against dark colored illustration backdrops. A charming little boy in a red jacket wends his way through the comparisons presented to a stunning conclusion: "As you can see, it is all about Relativity/ Las cosas son asi, con toda seguridad. Todo tiene que ver con la Relatividad (pp. 20-21)." "Relativity" is a Junior Library Guild Selection for Fall, 2011.
