Reid Hospital & Health Care Services.

Reid Hospital & Health Care Services is a progressive, not-for-profit 238-bed regional referral medical center serving east-central Indiana and west-central Ohio. Reid's service area is home to about 280,000 people and includes five Indiana counties and two Ohio counties.

Reid is guided by a mission devoted to treating the whole person--body, mind and spirit. The hospital is also dedicated to patient satisfaction and consistently ranks among the top-rated hospitals in Press Ganey surveys.

Accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, Reid also has achieved accreditation or certification by the Indiana State Department of Health, Medicare/Medicaid, American Association of Blood Banks and the American College of Surgeons Community Cancer Program.

Reid is in the midst of planning a new hospital at a campus about two miles north of its present site on Chester Boulevard in Richmond. The new 100-plus-acre site sits adjacent to Indiana University East and Ivy Tech, offering exciting health education-related opportunities. A new outpatient rehab services facility will be completed late in 2003 near the new campus. Reid is also expanding its heart services soon to provide interventional procedures including open-heart surgery. Other services Reid offers include inpatient acute rehabilitation, occupational health and a sleep-diagnostic center, among others.
