Rehab driver is jailed after binge.

Byline: Gordon Currie

A MOTORIST caught drinkdriving had just completed a rehab course to get his licence back after a previous ban.

Robert Marshall, 47, was swerving all over the A9 in a car littered with empties, a court was told.

Marshall, from Letham Grange, Angus, had drunk a quarter-bottle of vodka and several cans of cider before he was stopped last month.

He was attempting to drive 100 miles from Glasgow to Angus when police, alerted by other drivers, detained him.

Marshall had been banned from driving for a year in October 2010 but got his licence back three months early because he completed a drink-driving rehab course, Perth Sheriff Court was told.

Marshall was jailed for four months and banned from driving for six years after he admitted drink-driving between Stirling and Perth on October 16 this year.
