Regular patrols promised.
BIRMINGHAM Conservatoire is part of the Birmingham City University.
"We are working closely with police to keep students safe wherever possible, both on and off campus, and this includes close working ties with our dedicated campus police officer," a spokesman said.
"In addition, our security services are now conducting additional patrols in the areas immediately surrounding our buildings and along routes frequented by students and staff.
"Although incidents like this remain extremely rare, campus security and student welfare are of the utmost importance, and we offer a range of support for victims in such instances.
"Birmingham City University continually promotes the importance of personal safety, both on and off campus, and a range of information and resources is available to students to improve awareness of risks.
"We are confident West Midlands Police officers are giving the incident in question their full attention and taking the investigation very seriously."
