Regal role for Godfrey.

Chivas Brothers has appointed Paul Godfrey brand director of its premium blended Scotch whisky Chivas Regal 12.

Godfrey replaces Howard Southern who moves to Chivas Brothers' parent company Pernod Ricard in Paris as senior category director.

In his new role, Godfrey will be responsible for Chivas Regal 12, managing an international team of marketing and brand managers. Godfrey said his challenge would be to take Chivas Regal to the next level by emphasising its position as an international luxury brand.

He joins from William Grant & Sons where he was global malts marketing manager. He was responsible for the regeneration of Glenfiddich and for building a strong global brand and commercial infrastructure to support the malts profile.

Godfrey also spent six years at Coca-Cola, rising to the position of marketing director for Thailand. He has also held sales and marketing positions at British American Tobacco and Grand Metropolitan Brewing.
