Education in the Asia-Pacific region; v.5

This collection of articles on educational reform in the Asia-Pacific region after the 1997 financial crisis measures the impacts of these programs on both teachers and students from historical, political and sociocultural perspectives. Editors Ng (education and professional studies, Griffith U., Australia) and Renshaw (education, U. of Queensland, Australia) have collected case studies and essays from experts in the region to discuss such topics as learning and teaching through online collaborative knowledge building, the motivational implications of the quality teaching model and innovative approaches to teaching sustainability and transferability in the information age. Case studies are employed from such countries as Japan, New Zealand, Australia, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Singapore.
