Referral system for dietitians available.

The American Dietetic Association has established its own referral system to help consumers locate registered dietitians (RDs) close to home for either individual or group nutrition counseling. The network, a computerized network component of the ADA's National Center of Nutrition and Dietetics consumer hot line, includes RDs throughout the country. The various areas of expertise it covers include cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, digestive disorders, and kidney problems.

Consumers can call the referral system at 1-800-366-1655 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (EST) Monday through Friday. One can request referrals in English or Spanish by writing to: National Referral Network, c/o The American Dietetic Association, 216 West Jackson, Suite 800, Chicago, IL 60606.
