Referendum should have different subject.
ERIC Howells raises some interesting points in his letter (Western Mail, May 24).
Few would disagree that the expense associated with opening the imperial British Parliament by an out-of-touch tyrannical head of state is a complete waste of money.
The Wales Bill in its current form is indeed a disappointment.
The "should the Assembly be abolished" question gained the altogether underwhelming support of 44,000 of the electorate in the recent Assembly elections, while more than 1,000,000 chose to support the continued existence of the Assembly.
Perhaps we should consider "should we abolish the Royal Family?" in turn doing away with titles like "Sir".
