Redundancy never pays off like this; LARRY CROWNE 12A.

Redundancy is not good. Unless you are Tom Hanks. Then getting dumped from your job has definite plus points.

Hanks is Larry Crowne, a regular employee of the month who is floored when his supermarket bosses fire him.

It's the last straw since he's lost his wife and is left with bills he can't pay.

Oh, woe! But wait. Good stuff lurks round the corner. Off our hero goes to college to get the qualifications that will lead to a better job. He also meets fellow students who help change his life and teach him to dress cooler.

Then there's Larry and his college tutor - Julia Roberts - who fall for each other.

Directed by Hanks, this is schmaltzy though inoffensive, light-weight stuff. But is it in any way believable? Are you kidding?
