Reduction in deficit of Pakistan Railway witness in current financial year: Bilour.
ISLAMABAD, 13 May, 2009 (Frontier Star) -- Federal Minister for
Railways, Ghulam Ahmad Bilour has said that a general reduction in
deficit of Pakistan Railways had been witnessed in the current financial
year. He expressed these views while talking to media on the occasion of
inauguration of "Islamabad Express" between Islamabad and
Lahore from Margalla Railway Station, which was closed 30 years ago. He
said that the under-construction Railway project from Chaman to
Afghanistan would be completed very soon, reducing not only the
travelling difficulties of passengers but also save their time.
Initially, the fare of Islamabad Express between Islamabad and Lahore
would be equal to that of fare of Rawalpindi and Lahore. Federal
Minister said that train service between Rawalpindi and Islamabad would
also be started very soon to minimize the worries of daily commuters. He
further said that the name of Margalla Railway station has been replaced
with Islamabad Railway station, from where train will leave for Lahore
daily at 17:30 from Islamabad.
