In an age of misinformation and fake news, Cover-ups & Secrets attempts to shed some much needed light on key events in American history. From UFO cover-ups to secret government monitoring, Cover-ups & Secrets explores a myriad of controversies in the United States. Each chapter delves into a new conspiracy, providing the reader with short excerpts from sources like CIA reports, newspaper articles, and interviews. Topics within this book focus on events as modern as 9/11 and Amazon's Alexa.
Redfern writes in a journalistic style. For the most part, he presents the information and allows the reader to make the final decision. However, upon a closer read, Redfern seems to try to subtly persuade the reader to accept the controversial accounts in each chapter as factual. There are photographs throughout the book, which complement the focus of each chapter. The reports are very accessible, but some do contain sexual references as well as mild profanity. If one reads each account with a grain of salt, then Cover-ups & Secrets may provide a few thought-provoking insights.--Richard Vigdor
