Last week's opening instalment of this drama trilogy, based on David Peace's novels, just about blew our heads off, what with the gripping story, talented cast and top production values. This second part picks up the tale in 1980, and the "Ripper" has stalked Yorkshire for six years. Manchester detective Peter Hunter (Paddy Considine) is drafted in to speed up the investigation. Unfortunately, Hunter's troubled professional past comes back to haunt him. Maxine Peake, above, is among the cast, and says of the production: "It was very intense. I don't usually get too affected when I'm filming, and I know it sounds really corny, but there was so much talent on that set and everyone was just working their socks off."
