Supplies a wide range of Plasmac recycling extruders for pelletizing PE, PU, PP, PS and other thermoplastic films, bottles, and woven/nonwovens.

Cleaning and separation (density) machines from Bird for plastic film, fibers, chips, etc. with minimum space need little attention.

AMERICAN EXTRUSION SERVICES INC.

AMERICAN KUHNE CORP.

Complete recycling systems from Kuhne Anlagenbau GmbH sort, wash, filter, and extrude 100% recycled film or sheet in a one-step process.

BARTEX RECYCLING Lines from Sikoplast GmbH are custom-built for most plastics. Use proprietary grinding and drying technology and a conical single-screw extruder connected to a polycondensation reactor, which upgrades PET's I.V. from 0.66 to 0.80. Also systems for recycling scrap into blown film, pipe, or profile.

CAROLMAC CORP.

Recycling equipment for PP, PE, PET, nylon 6 and 66, BOPP, and HPS comes from Artec Maschinenbau of Austria. Includes cutter-compactors, single-screw recycling extruders, screen changers, and water-ring and strand pelletizers.

CRESSWOOD RECYCLING SYSTEMS DIV. OF DUN-RITE TOOL & MACHINE CO.

HF-6850 hopper-fed grinder features a 50-in. rotor length, a large hopper opening and an expanded cutting chamber dimension to accommodate and process heavy purgings, reject part, spent distribution packaging, sheets, bulky scrap, film, dense end trims and pipe/profile. Suitable for size reduction or for producing finished regrind to a predetermined particle size. Throughput capacity can be optimized with a choice of cutters, cutter placement and the selection of one of five standard rotor designs.

CUMBERLAND ENGINEERING CORP.

Complete recycling systems for post-consumer PE film and PET or HDPE bottles. Produce clean flake or pellets at 1000 to 3000 lb/hr. Include bale breakers, granulators, materials handling, and prewash, hotwash and hydrocyclone separation systems.

Also complete extrusion, polymer filtration, and pelletizing systems (strand or water-ring), plus system-wide control packages.

EREMA NORTH AMERICA INC. PLASTIC RECYCLING SYSTEMS

Complete repelletizing systems and continuous densifers for in-house, post-industrial or post-consumer plastics recycling. Patented warm-feed system predensifies, size reduces and prewarms scrap before it enters the extruder. This minimizes heat history, resulting in low-material degradation. Recycling systems include automatic back-flushing screen changers or continuous laser filter systems, depending on the type and amount of contamination in the scrap.

Systems available for PE, PP, PA, PET and most other thermoplastics at rates from 50 to 5000 lb/hr.

EUROHANSA INC.

Supplies complete post-consumer recycling systems with automatic sortation, granulating, washing and drying.

GALA INDUSTRIES, INC.

Recycle systems include equipment to wash, rinse and dry recycle materials removing dirt, loose paper, and chemical solutions. Rates from 10 to 5000 lb/hr. Centrifugal dryers process up to 150,000 lb/hr of material. Underwater pelletizers also available to pelletize reclaimed thermoplastic materials.

KEY TECHNOLOGY

Designs/manufactures machine vision systems capable of separating plastics by resin and color. Installations include flake sorters for separating colored and clear PET, caps from NHDPE milk jugs, and mixed color HDPE color into individual color streams. Whole bottle sorting systems can create high-purity streams of clear PET, green PET, NHDPE, HDPE, and PVC from mixed streams. Flake sorters can exceed throughputs of 10,000 lb/hr with better than 98% removal efficiency and less than 1% good product loss. Bottle sorters can handle up to 12,000 lb/hr with similar efficiencies.

M.A. INDUSTRIES, INC. POLYMERS DIV.

Complete systems for post-consumer PET and HDPE containers in capacities from 1000 to 3000 lb/hr. Components can be sold individually: granulators, bale breakers, spin dryers, trommels, air conveying/classification systems, float/sink classifiers, PET crystallizers, rotary hot-air dryers, and flake washers.

MERRITT EXTRUDER CORP.

Polycycle recycling system for bales, rolls, slabs, gaylords and purgings allows one-step size reduction without a granulator. New shredder design feeds a single-screw extruder, screenchanger and pelletizer. System is complete from infeed conveyor to size reduction unit, metal detection and sorting, holding capabilities and automated feed to extruder. Special oversize design feed-throat with ram stuffer for light bulk density materials. Extremely high rate production units for PE, PP, PET and all fibers. Excellent with chipped and powdered reclaim processes. Extruder can be 3- to 10-in. diam., up to 2000 hp, with L/D available to 50:1, venting, demisters, side-arm additive feeders, or feedthroat additive systems can be tailored for throughputs from 400 to 10,000 lb/hr.

MSS INC.

Aladdin systems for commingled post-consumer plastic containers use optical color and near-infrared sensors to segregate whole bottles of any resin and/or color: PET, HDPE, PVC, PP, PS, etc.

Sapphire system for mixed household trash use near-infrared sensor to separate plastics, drinking cartons, and/or paper items from a mixed stream of residential waste.

FiberSort uses mid-infrared spectroscopy to remove brown, printed cardboard and plastic containments from newspaper. MetalSort removes ferrous, nonferrous and stainless steel from car shredder fluff.

NEW HERBOLD INC.

Turnkey systems for recycling PE film and PE, PET, or PVC bottles. Washing systems treat soiled, mixed waste. Hydrocyclone system separates by density. Can be added to existing Herbold recycling lines.

NEXT GENERATION RECYCLING MASCHINEN GMBH

Offers integrated shredder and extruder to reclaim plastic waste without precutting. Small sizes can process edge trim; larger models process purgings.

OSPREY CORP.

Complete inline film and sheet edge-trim recycling systems, including take-away inducers or cutter-blowers, grinders and extruder-mounted fluff refeed machines. Options available for re-introduction of roll and loose scrap. Refeed rates to 1200 lb/hr on extruders from 2.5- to 8-in. diam. Refeed machines can be mounted on extruder throat including round, square or oblong feedthroats.

Inline film-trim repelletizing systems including dual-diam, extruder/pelletizer for extrusion applications that require uniform, high-bulk-density repro or are reclaiming high percentages of scrap. Operable with materials such as LDPE, HDPE, PP, PS, ABS and coextruded blends at rates to 500 lb/hr. Scrap can be re-introduced accurately via gravimetric blenders. Other features include air- or water-cooled pelletizing, modular design with small footprint, and low noise level.

Plant scrap repelletizing systems for postindustrial scrap recovers costly roll scrap, cut-outs and other waste and reduces size of scrap to manageable inventory. Provides granules with minimum polymer degradation and no contaminants. Allows scrap to be accurately re-introduced into primary process with gravimetric blender. Can repelletize films with print levels up to 25%. Output rates to 1500 lb/hr.

Belgium firm offers a dry mechanical sorting process for ASR, yielding seven product streams, including copper-rich, plastic-rich and fiber-rich streams as well as separating and washing PU foam. Also a thermal separation process for polymers.

STARLINGER & CO. GMBH

Offers new Recostar Universal Recycling Line, which combines a shredder, agglomerator and extruder to recycle low-bulk-density materials. Recostar has crammer to prevent bridging, high-vacuum venting and back-flushing screen changer. Also offers recycling extrusion lines for carpet backing, ropes, twine and sack reclaim.

STERLING SYSTEMS DIV. OF STERLING BLOWER CO.

Systems for reclaiming post-industrial materials such as PET, HDPE and PVC bottles, carpet scrap, cable chop, tires, and auto scrap. Handle up to 10,000 lb/hr.

VISTAR MACHINERY INTERNATIONAL INC.

Offers corotating twin-screw extruders to recycle PET without drying or crystallizing from Luigi Bandera of Italy. Also offers from OMP Prealpina complete washing plants with granulating, float/sink and centrifuge separation, washing tanks, dryers, and single- and twin-screw extruders.
