AN extra 900 citizens advice bureau volunteers are being recruited in the North-West over the next year.

The majority of CAB workers are unpaid.

Paul Allen, regional manager at the national association of citizens advice bureaux, said: ``The volunteers are the life blood of the service and many stay with us for years, others, understandably, move into paid work, quite often within the CAB Service'' No formal qualifications are needed to become a volunteer.
