Recognition of Jo Ann Kleier for six years of service to Urologic Nursing Journal.
Jo Ann Kleier, PhD, EdD, ARNP, ACNP-BC, will be completing two terms on the Urologic Nursing Editorial Board at the end of 2016. Jo Ann has completed six years of continuous service as a member of the Editorial Board, prior to which, she was a manuscript reviewer, columnist, author, and Urologic Nursing literary award recipient. Jo Ann was asked to join the Editorial Board after her longstanding writing excellence, including a literary award in 2008 in Philadelphia. She has a wonderful research background, and has assisted authors with getting research manuscripts edited and ready for publication. She has even had authors send their data to her so she can rerun the statistics using the correct methods. That is definitely over and above what was required. Although Jo Ann was a quiet member of the Editorial Board, she made wonderful suggestions during Editorial Board meetings when decisions were required. She always completed editing manuscripts well ahead of the due date, and the edits were so well done that no further editing was needed.
In addition to being a Full Professor, Jo Ann recently became the Associate Dean of Research and Compliance at Nova Southeastern University College of Nursing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Her administrative time commitments are the reason for her decision to not seek reappointment as a member of the editorial board. I will miss her research expertise immensely. However, I'm thrilled she continues to submit manuscripts for publication and will have one published in an upcoming issue of the journal in 2017.
