RecipeOF THE WEEK; Staying in Your ultimate home comforts GRILLED FIGS, GORGONZOLA CHEESE AND SPIRULINA.

The sweetness of figs mingled with the delicious salty flavours of a blue cheese such as Gorgonzola makes for a perfect a marriage of flavours. Add a garnish of grilled Parma ham and rocket leaves and you have a starter that will not only wake up the taste buds, but stimulate the appetite.

A sprinkling of spirulina lifts the dish to great heights and adds extra nutrients. Serves 4 as starter 8 ripe figs 5 oz / 150g Gorgonzola cheese 4 slices Parma ham 2 tbsps balsamic vinegar 1 tsp spirulina powder Method: 1 Halve figs and place on a baking tray.

2 Break up cheese and scatter spirulina powder over the pieces. Mix in the balsamic vinegar.

3 Spoon cheese mix on to figs and place under a warm grill along with Parma ham. 4 Remove from grill once cheese mix begins to bubble and Parma ham has turned crisp.

Serve as a starter with slices of crunchy bread.
