Rebels' Richie is back as a guest; SPEEDWAY.
FORMER Newcastle favourite Richie Worrall joins twin brother Steve in the Diamonds team racing at Glasgow tomorrow in a Premier League match.
Richie, who rides for Somerset Rebels, comes in as a guest for Newcastle No 1 Lewis Kerr, who suffered a hairline fracture of the hip in a crash during last Sunday's match against Edinburgh.
Kerr will also miss the return fixture against Glasgow at Byker on Monday (6.30pm) when team manager George English plans to share out Kerr's scheduled outings among the rest of the Diamonds under 'Rider Replacement.'.
Swede Anton Rosen is still about a week away from a return following a broken collarbone, and the Diamonds will use the same rider replacement regulation for him at Glasgow, with, hopefully, a guest in his place on Tyneside in the return.
English said: "Rider shortage is at its most acute this weekend, so I was happy to hear from Simon Nielsen that he was racing again in Denmark during the week, so he is back for the Glasgow matches.
"On Monday, however, 10 of the 13 Premier League clubs are in action, while Grand Prix Challenge meetings all over the world are taking place and several riders we could have used as a guest under normal circumstances are competing in them.
"Therefore, the best option we have is to share out Lewis' rides and give one each to Steve Worrall, Ludvig Lindgren, Christian Henry and possibly our guest - if I can find one!" BARRY WALLACE
