INVESTORS who hope Jag XJ220 prices will pick up should bale out now. Last week an as-new 220 with just 700 miles went for pounds 100,000 - that's pounds 200,000 less than list. Never was so much lost by so few.

jHOW will people get to Ken Livingstone's Grand Prix in London? Not on his smelly, slow and crumbling public transport system. Without big improvements I can't see the Olympics or a Grand Prix working.

jTHE cherished plate market may be softening. At last week's DVLA auction, 54 A made pounds 6,400, 40 ANT pounds 5,000, 555 GO pounds 2,900 and BUG 11 pounds 4,200 - 10 per cent less than they'd have made six months ago. But the distinctive 888 BJX was a bargain at pounds 450.
