Real Schindler's List on Sale on eBay for $3m [VIDEO].
The 14-page typewritten list, one of only four in existence, was previously owned by the German industrialist's right-hand man and accountant Itzhak Stern.
Gary Zimet, a Los Angeles-based auctioneer who listed the item with his business partner Eric Gazin, told Agence France-Presse: "I don't anticipate any bidders until the last day or probably the last five or 10 minutes.
"Stern's nephew (in Israel) sold it roughly three years ago to the current owner, who bought it as an investment," said Zimet, who declined to give details about the seller.
Zimet and his partner Eric Gazin, who listed the document on eBay, chose to use the web auction site because of its global reach.
"This exceedingly rare original Schindler's List is the only one ever on the market," the eBay listing states. Others are in museums in Israel and the United States.
Interested bidders are asked to provide information so they can be pre-screened.
Schindler is credited with saving the lives of some 1,200 Jews employed in his factories during World War II. He died in anonymity in Germany in 1974 at the age of 66.
The document is listed on eBay with an extract from an interview he gave ten years before his death: "I felt the Jews were being destroyed. I had to help them. There was no choice."
Zimet told the Post they hoped the list would sell for around $5 million ([pounds sterling]3.2m). "It is extremely rare that a document of this historical significance is put on the market," Zimet said.
"Many of the survivors on this list and their descendants moved to the United States, and there are names on this list which will sound very familiar to New Yorkers."
After paying over a $10,000 deposit (with the balance due within a week), the bid-winner will receive an affidavit from Nathan Stern, the list's original owner, and nephew of Itzhak Stern - played by Ben Kingsley in Steven Spielberg's 1993 movie - responsible for typing out the lists.
