Re: subverting the church.

Lou Iacobelli presents a convincing case for condemnation of the program for Catholic teachers called Foundations in Catholic Education. However, his discussion of faith would be improved by stating upfront that faith is a theological virtue. As such, it is the sole proximate means of union with God without which it is impossible to please God. In Dark Night of the Soul, St. John of the Cross (1642-1691), Doctor of Mystical Theology, also praises faith as a cure for stupidity, a requirement for liberty of spirit and a dazzling white garment that protects the soul from the evil one. He teaches that faith needs to be purified rather than to "grow."
