Rating Dun And Bradstreet

After 117 years in Little Rock, The Dun & Bradstreet Corp. is closing its office in the Koger Center on Aug. 31.

The move is part of a cost-trimming exercise by the $4.32-billion New York business information company.

The Little Rock office manager was promoted in June and was not replaced in anticipation of the change. Three salesmen and five business analysts will continue to work for the company in Arkansas -- out of their homes.

Three clerical workers will be released with a nice severance package in hand.

"They've done better than they had to do," says one of those clerical workers.

The company is known for its credit-rating service of more than 400 million businesses.

Other D&B offices recently closed at Raleigh, N.C.; Knoxville, Tenn.; Tulsa, Okla.; and Honolulu.

There will be a buyout of the Koger Center lease.
