Rare new pictures for Elvis ebook; LAURA DAVIS PREVIEWS THE ENHANCED VERSION OF ELVIS COSTELLO'S UNFAITHFUL MUSIC AND DISAPPEARING INK.

ELVIS COSTELLO has revealed a collection of photographs from his personal archive, ahead of his autobiography being published next week.

The rare images will form part of the enhanced ebook version of Unfaithful Music and Disappearing Ink, due to be released on Thursday, October 15.

They include shots of him with rock royalty such as Chet Baker and Nick Lowe, as well as promo posters and paraphenalia from his tours.

It will also feature a series of pictures taken when Elvis' band played an impromptu show on the back of a truck to promote their ongoing 1979 Japanese tour. It brought traffic to a standstill and led to him being arrested and fined.

Born in London, as a teenager Elvis moved with his Liverpool-born mother to Birkenhead and studied for his A-Levels at St Francis Xavier School, in Woolton.

Unfaithful Music and Disappearing Ink by Elvis Costello will be published by Penguin Random House on October 13 and can be ordered at www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0241003466 Elvis Costello will be discussing his |memoir at Liverpool's Royal Court Theatre on Monday, October 26.
