Rare collection reveals Bahrain's rich history.

RARE stamps, coins and documents were showcased yesterday at an exhibition which opened at the Cultural Hall, near Bahrain National Museum.

The event, under the patronage of Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs president Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al Khalifa, has been organised by the Bahrain Philatelic Society.

It displays unique stamps, coins and documents illustrating Bahrain's history and will run until Friday, from 9am to 1pm and from 4pm to 9pm daily.

The event will also feature an auction on Thursday at 8.30pm at the Cultural Hall, with proceeds going to support orphans in Bahrain.

People are encouraged to take part by donating antiques or stamps to support the cause.

To donate or take part, call Bahrain Philatelic Society vice-president Mohammed Janahi on 33400403.
