Beginning in the fall of 1992, the Rapra database of science, technology and business aspects of plastics, rubber and polymer composites will be available on STN International, the scientific and technical information network. STN recently added the Crystmet file, a crystallographic database produced by the Canadian Institute for Scientific and Technical Information. The file contains data for more than 21,000 metals and intermetallic compounds. STN International is operated jointly by CAS (Chemical Abstracts Service) in North America; by FIZ Karlsruhe in Europe; and by JICST, the Japan Information Center of Science and Technology in Japan.
