Rancho Santiago Community College Will Host NACCE/BEC Community College Entrepreneurship Summit on April 2.

Springfield, MA, March 13, 2013 --(PR.com)-- A one-day summit on the role of entrepreneurship in workforce development will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at the Rancho Santiago Community College District Offices in Santa Ana, CA, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event is one of six regional summits being held around the country by the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE), the nation's leading organization focused on promoting entrepreneurship through community colleges. California's Economic and Workforce Development's Business and Entrepreneurship Center (BEC) Program is sponsoring the California summit, providing free registration (including lunch) for all participants.

“The summit will generate discussion on the potential for community colleges, government agencies, community partners, entrepreneurs, and other organizations to partner, spur innovation and job creation in California, and leap-frog perceived barriers of decreased funding and limited resources,” said Michael Roessler, statewide director of BEC program. “We hope community college trustees, presidents, faculty and staff, along with entrepreneurs and other key stakeholders will join us for this important session on how we can work together to support the growth of entrepreneurship in our state through innovative entrepreneurship education programs.”

“Community colleges are where entrepreneurship education and workforce development come together to drive economic development,” said NACCE Executive Director Heather Van Sickle. “As part of this summit, attendees will have the opportunity to network with other entrepreneurially-minded colleagues, share best practices, and gain core skills that enable them to implement the five action steps of NACCE's Presidents for Entrepreneurship Pledge. Through the pledge, over 180 community college presidents across the country have committed to helping individuals and families achieve their personal and business dreams.”
