Ramu's 26/ 11 film ' tribute'.
Despite the name- calling for having accompanied the then chief minister of Maharashtra late Vilasrao Deshmukh to see the wrecked Taj Mahal Palace and Tower Hotel in Colaba, post the 26/ 11 attacks in Mumbai, RGV has gone ahead with his cinematic interpretation of the gruesome attacks that the city witnessed in 2008.
Barely three days before the fourth anniversary of 26/ 11 attacks, RGV held a special tenminute preview of his soon- tobe released film, The Attacks of 26/ 11 in Mumbai.
The 10- minute long screening, which was only the opening of the film that will release in 2013, did impress the audience that included policemen and families of martyrs of the attacks.
Kavita Karkare, wife of slain ATS chief Hemant Karkare, Smita Salaskar, wife of late encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar and Vaishali Ombale, daughter of ASI Tukaram Ombale, who laid down his life to capture Ajmal Qasab alive were present at the screening.
Inspector Sanjay Govilkar, who was with Ombale during the capture of Qasab as well as Arun Jadhav, the constable who survived the attack watched the screening.
The sequence opened with Nana Patekar, who plays the joint commissioner of the Mumbai police.
RGV has officially stated the film is made in remembrance of the victims of 26/ 11 and their families.
